Lacy Mucklow
As an art therapist, I've been practicing in the Washington, DC area for over two decades. My expertise extends to various settings, including home-based counseling, schools, partial hospitalization programs, and inpatient hospitalization settings. Although I work with people of all ages, I have a particular interest in helping adolescents. I also have experience working with military families and wounded warriors. My clients are often dealing with a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, OCD, autism, trauma, grief and loss, transition and adjustment issues, perfectionism, and self-esteem challenges. I employ a variety of art therapy techniques, including cognitive-behavioral, strengths-based, client-centered, and Jungian paradigms. My training includes specialties such as sand play therapy, the ITT Graphic Narrative trauma processing, Mandala work, and the Diagnostic Drawing Series (DDS). Additionally, I incorporate mindfulness and meditative practices into my sessions to help clients relax and reduce their stress levels.
